See the Pen CSS Flipping Superhero Cards by Ian Farb (@ianfarb) on CodePen
I was inspired to use some CSS flipping animations after seeing David Walsh’s tutorial on his website that explained how to do achieve this effect. The code you see above is essentially what David provided with some renaming of classes and additional code to make what I wanted.
This concept is pretty new to me but I hope to be able to use it in the future. Have a way this could be better? Leave me a comment below. Enjoy.
Nicholas’s school recently held a fun event at the local McDonald’s where the teachers were behind the counters serving food and taking orders. He got really excited when he saw the Hodag standing outside posing so we got a picture with him.
Pretty happy little boy there.
See the Pen jQuery Change Font Size by Ian Farb (@ianfarb) on CodePen
More fun and adventure with HTML, CSS, and jQuery. I decided I would try to replicate a function seen with many websites that gives the user the ability to control the font size of the article (or whatever they may be viewing) to something more comfortable for their viewing ability.
I am sure there is a way to do this with pure CSS but I thought it would be fun to challenge myself and try using jQuery. Thanks to a few ideas/techniques on StackOverflow I came up with a solution I think is pretty slick.
If you see something that could be done better please leave a comment below. Enjoy.
See the Pen Links with CSS Sliding Background Color by Ian Farb (@ianfarb) on CodePen
I was inspired to create this pen after seeing a similar menu idea in an indie video game. I struggled at first trying to create a link with a background that slid on hover. The trick was to create a gradient background instead of using a solid color.
Thanks to Kirupa.com for the technique and helpful knowledge. If you like what you see or have an idea for how it could be better please leave a comment below.
See the Pen Space Tabs by Ian Farb (@ianfarb) on CodePen
I felt compelled to work on another CodePen since it has been some time since my last one. The above example is essentially a tabbed slideshow that changes as users hover over the different tabs on the bottom.
Although the concept isn’t new it was still fun to work on. As always I would love to hear your thoughts and how it could be improved. Enjoy.
I will admit I like some pretty crazy music sometimes. Like Himsa. Pretty heavy crazy band but if you like that kind of music you should give this band a listen.
They offer a certain intensity in their music that not many bands can match and definitely have created their own style of heavy metal music in opinion. Personally I am not a huge fan of their earlier work. Just not for me.
Their last album entitled Summon in Thunder was released in 2007 and there hasn’t been anything new since. Hopefully this band will come soon with some new material.
Below is one of my favorite songs called Skinwalkers from their album Summon in Thunder.
